Souce

Welcome

I am a registered psychologist in Edmonton, Alberta with over five years of experience, working mostly in private practice and at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton. I also spent some time counselling at Concordia University. Prior to being a psychologist I worked with older youth in Children’s Services.

Beliefs

I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are closely connected, and that changing behaviours and working with difficult thoughts can create relief with difficult emotions.  I strive to teach individuals skills that will help them weather difficult times throughout their lives.

I have a very direct approach to counselling.  I tailor counselling to each individual’s beliefs, presenting issues and goals. I generally approach problems from a cognitive behavioural therapy (specifically rational emotive behaviour therapy), incorporating narrative therapy, mindfulness, somatic therapy, and person centred therapy as well.  Although I have a lot of experience with women’s issues, I have also worked with many men who have experienced trauma and abuse, and ran the Men’s Groups at the Sexual Assault Centre.
